Museum Night

The event ”2014 Museum night” was held in the organization by the Museum ”Staro selo” Kumrovec, named UNKNOWN GIFTS.

In the ”Museum night”, visitors could, for the first time, see the gifts that Josip Broz received on various occasions, as a president of the former state. It was a time machine of sorts to the past and a reminder on some different times.

As a boy he went from Kumrovec to schooling in the world. No one could have anticipated that a small Josip Broz would become one of the most famous personalities of the 20th century. Initially surprised by the way of life of his fellow townsmen, the people of Kumrovec later become aware of his name in the areas of SE Europe and the world. Hotel Kumrovec turned into a residential buildingin 1952, where Josip Broz received numerous delegations, domestic and foreign, during his sojourns in Kumrovec. During these meetings, the protocol also provided receiving gifts from both his fellow townsmen, and citizens from the area of ​​SE Europe and many foreign delegations. In the ”Museum night”, visitors could, for the first time, see the gifts that Josip Broz received on various occasions, as a president of the former state.
